Musical Chocolate
So I was getting on the underground this morning when I noticed this movie poster. It was for one of those stupid movies I have no desire to see, but I noticed these little word bubbles on it with names of bands. So on the soundtrack for this movie are songs by Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones, another famous rock group I am now forgetting, and....Patsy Kline. Talk about the most random of mixes. How on earth did Patsy Kline, of whom I am a fan, get on a soundtrack with old rock groups. I mean Mick Jagger is almost as old as Patsy Kline (she is dead now though), but still. Talk about two totally different genres. And speaking of crazy music moments, I was in Brussels this weekend and there I was having dinner at a pub/cafe listening to the spanish music they were playing when suddenly the music changed too...Gangster's Paradise by Coolio. It took me all the way back to when I was in the seventh grade. That and Waterfalls by TLC were the two big songs. I wonder if anyone would have know about the movie Dangerous Minds if it wasnt for that song. Or maybe its the other way around, who knows. But who expects to hear that song while eating in Brussels of all places.
In other news, I have now learned that Godiva overcharges for its chocolate in the states. Since I was in Brussels I of course had to check out the famous Belgian chocolates. And of course I was informed that Godiva was rather bland and that there were much better chocolatiers. And when I told them how much their chocolates cost in America (more than $2/piece for the G collection), they were aghast. And so was I when I went into Pierre Marcolini, a better and even higher end chocolate shop and it was cheaper. Emphasis on cheaper, cause it most certainly isnt cheap. Imagine a boutique shop for chocolate. There was a wall where you could buy squares of all the different kinds of chocolate and they has a clear plastic display for each of them showing what they look like and what is in them. There was also an oval table with several glass cases on it, each with one of their products displayed. I bought one of those as a gift, and now it is sitting in my apt tempting me to eat it. But I will resist. To help I bought some of the squares, so its not like I am totally without.
Also I must report on the Consortium drama. Well actually I have been hanging out mostly with people outside the program so I must admit I am a little out of the loop when it comes to the goings on. But as some of you know my earlier reporting got me in trouble and actually resulted in the person I reported on no longer speaking to me. I assumed he hated me, but then today, like a ray of light through the clouds he actually talked to me. I was a little taken aback at first because it was totally out of the blue, but it was not unwelcome. So maybe he didnt hate me afterall. Either that or since the end is near he decided to forgive me. I guess I dont get to play the role of villian anymore.
I also am now officially very poor, so I am takng donations to the sustain Brian's life in Europe fund. All contributions will go to making sure I have food and a place to stay between now and the time I fly home. We will see how good I am at stretching what little I have if I dont receive any donations. It is a worthy cause. You will be saving a life...mine. I would hate to starve to death in London. Sadly since I am not British I cant take part in any of their benefits so they wont give me welfare. So until next time, may I have food and shelter til then.

If you really are indeed a fan of Patsy than you should know that her name is spelled "Cline" and not "Kline"
If you knew me you would know I can barely spell my own name.
